This group is photos i took of the Dundas/Spadina/Queen/McCaul area from about mid-afternoon to early evening.

Northwest corner of Dundas & McCaul, right across from the Art Gallery (and the Cinematheque), from the southeast.

Looking directly west at the Dundas side of the AGO, the southwest corner of Dundas & McCaul.

Looking west down Dundas from the northeast corner - you can barely see the fencing and construction at the AGO.

Looking south down McCaul Street (that big thing is the Sharp Centre) at the Ontario College of Art & Design.

The saddest little outdoor seating.

A composite of three shots (the building is straight) of the southside of Dundas, the north face of the Gallery.

This is looking directly into the AGO construction.

A Red Rocket (the 505 Dundas), from the south side construction site.

Some old gated house on the north side of Dundas. No idea about it.

Streetcar traffic jam, Dundas and Spadina (quite a way away from me).

The original Chinatown, Dundas east of Spadina.

Except for the licence plates, and the distinctive streetcar, this could be somewhere in Asia.

One of those stupid mooses. Surprised it still has antlers - most were pilfered.

Looking back east from Spadina.

Now on the west side of Spadina, looking south from Dundas.

Looking back north into Spadina, through the Dundas intersection. The camera does not do your eyes justic.

A detail from the last shot. That's the 510 Spadina streetcar (as much as i like streetcars, i always think of the song Spadina Bus).

West side of Spadina, about midway between Dundas and Queen.

I didn't recognize this shot, but it's facing east from a northeast corner, so it has to be Queen. The northside of Queen looks empty.

It's a big intersection, but the street dominates the photo in a way it doesn't in real life. Another composite, this is facing north, from the southeast corner of Queen & Spadina. There is a hot dog vendor on Spadina, dead centre, and three more on Queen to the right. Competition is so fierce, dogs which are normally 2$ elsewhere in the city are only 1$ here.

Looking east along Queen, southside, from Spadina.

A crowd outside MuchMusic headquarters/ChumCity building, south side of Queen, east of John, screaming for Nickelback, who must be doing a live appearance. It's not that it's an interesting shot, but rather just evidence of people being really sad. There was a shot of this building in Free Scott Pilgrim.

CN Tower, from the north side of Queen, looking south, just east of MuchMusic, but still part of their complex.

The ChumCity building, looking southwest.
The Sharp Centre, on McCaul, behind an attractive art supply store. I've almost come full-circle (full-square, really). Hard to believe those pencil crayons are holding it up.

On McCaul Street, just south of Dundas, looking south, about 8:20 pm in mid-July. You can see the street lights beginning to glow - i'm having to hold open the shutter longer.

Me in a couple of reflections in the Village By The Grange residence windows. |
